Where You Go I'll Follow

Last night while driving home from dinner Brett noticed these little yellow arrows on the street followed closely by little yellow signs on the side of the street with big black arrows. There is a MS bike/walk/run or something happening this weekend, we are assuming. At any rate we decided to follow these arrows and see where we would end up. The arrows took us winding through our neighborhood then across some pretty main streets then back through some
shadier parts of town. This brought up some interesting conversation with Georgie. He wanted to know what kinds of bad decisions people have to make to get into jail. He also wanted to know what makes one part of town good and one part of town bad. Aah, good times but I digress. It became quite an adventure while we searched for the arrows to show us the way as we became more and more lost and crossed county lines. After a while the kids tuned out and Georgie put on a movie while Harper whined periodically. But Brett and I were on a mission. Where on earth were we going? By the time we were deep into Hanover County and bedtime was fast approaching we decided to throw in the towel, find the nearest on ramp to the interstate and head home. Fifty minutes from the time we left the restaurant we pulled up in front of our house. The moral of the story is this, have faith that when blindly following arrows you will eventually end up somewhere. We think.

  1. I have faith that we all end up somewhere. Eventually. A friend and I had a similar adventure one night during the summer, back in the high school days. We followed a giant sky spotlight all the way from our old house all the way to it's source, a new steakhouse on Midlothian Tnpk! First time I had driven over to that side of town. AND we made it back! Good times.
