Where You Go I'll Follow

Last night while driving home from dinner Brett noticed these little yellow arrows on the street followed closely by little yellow signs on the side of the street with big black arrows. There is a MS bike/walk/run or something happening this weekend, we are assuming. At any rate we decided to follow these arrows and see where we would end up. The arrows took us winding through our neighborhood then across some pretty main streets then back through some
shadier parts of town. This brought up some interesting conversation with Georgie. He wanted to know what kinds of bad decisions people have to make to get into jail. He also wanted to know what makes one part of town good and one part of town bad. Aah, good times but I digress. It became quite an adventure while we searched for the arrows to show us the way as we became more and more lost and crossed county lines. After a while the kids tuned out and Georgie put on a movie while Harper whined periodically. But Brett and I were on a mission. Where on earth were we going? By the time we were deep into Hanover County and bedtime was fast approaching we decided to throw in the towel, find the nearest on ramp to the interstate and head home. Fifty minutes from the time we left the restaurant we pulled up in front of our house. The moral of the story is this, have faith that when blindly following arrows you will eventually end up somewhere. We think.

Here's the Plan

Alrighty, this is the plan for this blog if anyone ends up following it. My hope is to keep a journal with Georgie's input over the summer (and longer if this works) of all the things we are doing. I want to freeze a little moment in time with him so we can come back later and read the funny things that he thinks and says. I'm also hoping that this will motivate us to find new and exciting things to do instead of spending the summer in front of the t.v. That is always a challenge. Wish me luck!

Our List

This is our first official 100Th blog. George thinks it's kind of getting old and he's getting tired of it. We want to make a list of things we want to do this summer even though George thinks it's lame. "Really I'm not kidding", says George.

1. Go to the pool (G says...Lame)

2. Go to the beach

3. Go to NYC

4. Get season passes to Kings Dominion

5. Shop at farmers markets (G says...Lame-o)

6. Play with Hale and Jay and Henry and Ian and Nick

7. Play with my cousins and have a sleep over

8. Collect eggs at the farm by Nana & Pops

9. Buy 2 new video games

10. Take Hale, Jay and Henry to Kings Dominion

11. Ride bikes all over

12. Go to a baseball game

13. Eat watermelon

14. Eliminate Timmy Turner

15. Watch the free movies on Tuesday mornings and the Friday night movies on the wall

16.Read books

17. Build a fort in the back yard

That's all we can think of for now. We will update this list as more comes to us. I think we are off to a very good start.
